Satélite que cobre Portugal - ATLANTIC BIRD 3 - 5º OESTE

É um satélite predominandemente "francês", dando "boleia" a alguns "bouquets" de canais italianos e árabes.

Trata-se deum repetidor espacial de grande potência, podendo ser recebido em Portugal com antenas de diâmetro na ordem dos 60 centímetros, tanto para a recepção do feixe "Wide" como do feixe "Super".

Um dos pontos mais interessantes deste satélite será a recepção do "bouquet" de canais France TV, difundido em aberto (FTA): bem como do pacote via satélite da TDT francesa, FRANSAT, este codificado no sistema Viaccess mas de recepção simplificada (não é exigida uma assinatura comercial)

Nesta Posição orbital "habitam" três satélites: os THOR, da Telenor; e os IS 10-02, propriedade da Intelsat. Todos eles se conseguem captar na nossa posição orbital, embora somente alguns dos feixes de transmissão, que descrevemos a seguir.-

do THOR 5, capta-se o feixe "T2";
do THOR 6, pode-se receber em boas condições o feixe "K2";
e do INTELSAT 10-02 recebem-se os "Spots S1" e "S2".
